About Us

Kiwanis was organized in 1915 and became International in 1919. The Kiwanis Club of Jacksonville (Downtown Kiwanis) was chartered in May 1951 by Kiwanis International. The Kiwanis family reaches around the world in 98 countries and in all of the United States.  Our club operates under bylaws approved by Kiwanis International.

Current projects include: Working the gates of the Greater Jacksonville Fair, held each November. Growing the success of our Annual Golf Tournament and selling Kiwanis P-nuts in a Division-wide P-Nut Day each spring.

Additional projects that will increase our monetary contributions to the community, as well as projects that we join hand in hand with organizations to help them attain success, are always being considered and undertaken.  The average yearly contribution to selected youth organizations and other well-deserving entities is in excess of $10,000.00

We currently sponsor two (2) Key Clubs, Bishop Kenny High School & Episcopal High School.  We also a the proud sponsor an Aktion Club at The PineCastle Center. The only Aktion Club currently being sponsored in the First Coast area. Our support of these entities and the many  FUN projects that allow us to help the youth in our community bring us together. Together in our efforts to bring about a positive result.  And strive to make our community the very best place to live and raise our families.
